Sustainability at the Joint CDDW™-CLM Conference 2026

At the Joint CDDW™-CLM Conference 2026, we are committed to creating a greener future by making sustainability a central focus in everything we do. Our eco-friendly approach is shaping every aspect of the conference, from minimizing carbon emissions to responsible waste management and beyond.

2025 Carbon Offset Contribution: Thanks to attendee support, we offset travel emissions through the Planetair Canada-Nature Portfolio, supporting nature-based climate solutions in Québec.

Our Commitment to a Greener Conference

This year, we’re taking bold steps to reduce our environmental footprint, starting with key areas such as:

  • Travel: Encouraging sustainable transportation options to lower the carbon footprint of attendee travel.
  • Food & Beverage: Choosing locally sourced and eco-friendly options to reduce waste and support sustainable agriculture.
  • Energy Efficiency: Implementing energy-saving measures throughout the event.
  • Waste Reduction: Committing to proper waste management and reducing single-use plastics and non-sustainable materials.

Why It Matters: The Global Impact of Events

  • The event industry is responsible for over 10% of global CO2 emissions¹.
  • The lifespan of promotional items is short—on average, they’re only kept for one year, with more than half being discarded². This adds significantly to landfill waste.
  • Travel emissions are a huge contributor, accounting for 70%-90% of an event’s carbon footprint³.
  • A three-day conference of 800 people generates 455 tons of CO², equivalent to the emissions of 95 cars for an entire year⁴!
